Sandals Resort Cuba in Varadero

LOVED! OVERALL RATING 5 STARS

Food and drinks generally, friendly people working and visiting, lots of entertainment
scuba lessons seemed fine

Morning walks along beach found lovely shells and coral seed necklaces for sale $3 on beach - not pushy sales people like in Africa, Asia

Snorkeling was amazing, guy in water videoed us for $20 CD (they love selling CD's everywhere)

OVERALL I JUST LOVE CUBA AND WOULD VISIT THIS RESORT AT THE NEXT OPPORTUNITY - JUST AMAZING HOW WE WERE TREATED BY EVERYONE WORKING THERE - "WE JUST LOVE CANADIANS" AND IT SHOWED

HATED

slow or useless internet - 30 minutes to get online to say "we are fine"

lifeguards selling cigars secretly on beach - ummm drowning here - jokes

Sunwing tourguide to Havanna rushed us through every attraction

Should not visit that museum where the workers sweep you in for photos sitting on the bed etc. after you give them EACH a tip - they are not fully satisfied until you cough up more money - also, helpful not to pay the $5 photo fee upon entry, as when you encounter these women you will be paying quite a lot more.

Annoying in Varadero and elsewhere that when you take a picture of the band at say lunch - you are expected to buy the CD for $15 to $20 each. I refused to watch the sax player again - next night at the resort, as he informed me his CD would be ready "tommorrow for $20" common, CD's cost $5 max., and he missed out on a tip as i figured i would be giving him $20 for something i would never listen to

Locals do not pose for pictures so i have a lot of blurry photos of say the guy pooring rum on Havanna tour, and the guy in the lobby rolling cigars
